For artists
Your work, on the wall
Salon turns an Apple TV into a picture frame that hangs one picture at a time, for hours. We are opening the collection to living artists: send us your work, and if it suits the frame, we will feature it in the app with your name on it. It is free.

How it works
- Send us a few pieces. Email links to your work, or small previews, with a line or two about each.
- We look at every one. A person, not an algorithm, looks at each piece: its shape, its detail, and whether it still reads from across a room.
- We agree the details with you. If a piece is chosen, we write to you first. You see exactly how it will be cropped and credited, and nothing is published until you say yes.
- Your work joins the collection. It appears in Salon with your name, the title and the year, and anyone with the app can hang it on their wall.
What suits the frame
- Landscape. A television is 16:9, wider than it is tall. Work close to that shape fills the screen best. We can crop a little, but never without asking.
- Large files. Salon shows pictures in 4K, so a file at least 3840 pixels wide keeps every detail sharp.
- Flat work. Painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, illustration and digital art. Photograph physical work straight on and evenly lit, without its frame.
- Pictures that live well. Work that can stay on a wall all afternoon without tiring the eye. Text, logos and watermarks do not suit the frame.
How to submit
Email salonsupport@icloud.com with “Artist submission” as the subject, and include:
- Your name, as you would like it credited
- Up to ten works, as a link to full-size files (Dropbox, Google Drive, WeTransfer or your own site) or as small attached previews
- The title, year and medium of each
- A link to your website or portfolio, if you have one
The terms, in plain words
- It is free. There is no fee to submit, and no fee to be featured.
- You keep your copyright. You give Salon permission to show the work in the app, and to show it on getsalon.app and the App Store as an example of what the app contains. Nothing more: we never sell your work or pass it on to anyone else.
- It is not exclusive. Show and sell your work anywhere else you like.
- You can change your mind. Ask us to remove a work at any time, and it leaves the collection in the next update.
- It has to be yours. Only send work you made yourself and hold the rights to.
We read every submission, but the collection is small and chosen with care, so we cannot feature everything we are sent. If a piece is chosen, we will be in touch before anything is published.
